About Me

This is my personal platform and it is focused on helping ministry leaders do church better. To that end, I write, film, and podcast on the topic of ministry, evangelization, discipleship, liturgy, leadership development, professional growth, and church structure. From time to time, I create content on topics that don’t fit precisely into one of these categories.

My goal is to create a space where ministry leaders can gather best practices and resources that will help them in their day-to-day ministry work. My goal is to create resources that are practical and actionable for you. If you are a leader in a church or ministry organization, then this platform is for you.

I typically post 2 to 3 times a week. To make sure you don’t miss my newest posts, you can subscribe via RSS or email below.

My Biography

I am a national trainer, writer, and podcaster having presented at the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry, National Catholic Youth Conference, the Religious Education Congress, and many other regional and local conferences. I recently launched my newest podcast, The Church Podcast, with my friend and colleague, Chris Wesley.

I bring a wide swath of knowledge through my 18 years of full-time ministry, having worked in such diverse settings as a parish administrator, the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry in the Diocese of San Jose, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and as a parish youth and young adult ministry coordinator.

During that time, I also served four years on the Board of Director’s for the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry as chair and second-vice chair. I am also an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University for the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministry.

I have a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree in Leadership and Organization Development from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry from Santa Clara University.

Feel free to browse my LinkedIn profile for more details about my career and experience.
I have been married to my wife, Rosie, for 9 years. We have two daughters and one son. We live outside of San Jose, California. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, working out, doing anything outside, wine tasting, and spending down time with the family.
